Dear Friends,

    The greatest spiritual pilgrimage of the year begins today—Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion. This Holy Week, culminating in the Sacred Triduum, is the holiest time of the year for us as Catholic Christians.

    As we enter these sacred days, let us take time to reflect on what Jesus has done for us—and continues to do for us. This weekend we hear the Passion of our Lord from the Gospel of Matthew. A beautiful practice would be to return to it at home: read it quietly on your own or aloud with your family. It takes only a few minutes. Listen carefully—what is the Lord saying to you?

    The days of the Triduum—Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday leading into Easter Sunday—invite us to walk with Jesus through the most important moments of His life.

    On Holy Thursday at 7:00 PM, we celebrate the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper—our first Mass in the church following the renovations. We recall the Last Supper and all that followed.

    On Good Friday at 7:00 PM, we gather to commemorate the Passion of the Lord with solemn prayer, veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion.

    On Holy Saturday at 7:30 PM, we begin outside with the blessing of the Easter fire and celebrate the Easter Vigil—the night we await the Resurrection. We hear the great story of salvation and rejoice in the new life Christ gives us.

    These are the holiest days of the year. Let us make them different. Come and walk with the Lord together, that we may grow in deeper love and understanding of His Passion, Death, and Resurrection.
