Dear Friends,
We celebrate Motherhood this weekend on Mother’s Day. Where would we be without our Moms?
All mothers deserve more than one day. There are not enough days in the calendar to set aside to honor what our mothers have done and continue to do for us. Thank you to all who have been a mother to anyone.
During the month of May, we honor Mary, our Blessed Mother. So it is fitting that we honor all mothers during this month. If you do not live near your mom, call her today. If your mom is no longer with us, pray for her. If you have had a difficult relationship with your mother, pray for her.
Let us set this day aside to honor the gift of life and motherhood.
To all of you Mothers, Happy and Blessed Mother’s Day! May the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God and our Mother, wrap all Mothers in her mantle.
God bless all mothers!
Fr. John
Prayer in Gratitude for Our Mothers
Good and Gentle God,
we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women of theory who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings.
Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly.
Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children.
Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood. Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most.
