Dear Friends,

Our Fall River Diocesan Vocation Office has been very busy this year. Thanks to your prayers and the dedicated work of our Vocation Office, I’d like to share some encouraging news.

Because of your prayers and your participation in the Called by Name campaign, our Vocation Office is now in contact with 326 young men throughout the Diocese of Fall River.

This past spring, 28 young men gathered for a Called by Name dinner with Bishop da Cunha, and more than 40 young men participated in a special vocation event at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro.

The momentum continues. We are currently in conversation with several men who are seriously discerning a vocation to the priesthood. This fall, we will welcome one new seminarian, bringing the total number of seminarians for the Diocese of Fall River to seven.

Please take a moment to read the special vocation “information handout” located in the pews. It includes additional updates, information about an upcoming hike for high school-aged young men, and an invitation to pledge to pray for vocations. Those who make the pledge may also receive emails from the Vocation Office with prayers, reflections, and devotional resources.

Please continue to pray fervently for priestly vocations in our diocese. Your prayers are making a difference, and they are truly bearing fruit.

God bless you all!

Fr. John
